About the Game

BIO-SLAVE is a space shooter with RPG elements, and in the future, roguelike elements as well.

This is my first game and I made it in approximately 1 month. Because of this, I hope you understand possible bugs and parts of the game that might leave something to be desired. I started this project precisely to improve myself as an artist, programmer, and game designer, and I intend to implement improvements to the game's content as I learn.

Story

You are a space pilot in the near future of 20XX whose mission is to stop the evil scientist Dr. Mallory Leigh and her plan to replace humanity with super androids using an artifact known as the Anima Engine.

Alongside Rebecca Marshall, you will uncover the mysteries behind Leigh's plans and the Anima Engine while building relationships with your companions.

Content

For now, the game only features:

  • 1 Story mission
  • 1 Endless stage
  • 1 Mission assistant
  • 3 Standard enemies in the stage

Future Plans

  • At least 10 story missions, each with its own endless version and unique boss;
  • 20 upgrades for your ship, unlockable as you progress through the story mode;
  • 4 mission assistants, each with their own exclusive scenes;
  • At least one sub-boss for each stage and five standard enemies per stage;
  • Make the game less dependent on third-party assets and replace them with original art as I learn to be a better pixel artist;
  • General improvements in gameplay, interface, sound design, game design, and visuals;
  • Roguelike mechanics similar to Vampire Survivors;
  • Android  version.

💡 You can support my Patreon and help me reach these goals.

Notes

  • The game features a credits screen with the authors of the third-party content used in the game.
  • English is not my native language, so there may be grammatical errors.

great art, but survival difficulty is way too easy. enemies really can't do anything if u just upgrade fire rate and damage, stick to the bottom, and go back and forth. probably best to change to a score-based leveling system a la Blue Revolver's arrange mode and just have leveling up increase damage and shot count, that way the game can scale with the player far better.

もっともっともっと火力を!Hyper!!!

Having to buy each HP one by one and starting at one at every story mode run makes it a little hard. The lack of checkpoint doesn't help.

As such story mode and endless run don't feel that much different.

Can there be futa or trans options?

(+3)(-2)

It's not a priority, but I don't rule out the idea for the future

So the key really is just do fire rate and damage during the first two waves, pick up rank 3 speed then just put everything alternating fire rate and damage. Once you get to the point where you just have a death laser sweeping across the screen, stockpile HP and then focus on not getting hit during the boss. That's about it

The flunky controls kinda pisses me off due the unfairness.
level up everything freezes even when infront of a projectile that suddenly becomes undodgeable because of poor level-up moment

so as you progress your pilots shirt gets as little lower, meh

Year 20XX. Cmon son just make up a number

It's a megaman reference.

Good start, might be better if there were checkpoints, or some way to level up faster. At this point it's just too hard

Game is cool, but combat is way too unforgiving

Agreed. I got to the final boss, with 5 HP, and it's just gone in.

Checkpoints would be great.

I feel like you should have a few more HP to start off.

But pretty dang good!

Edit: I didn't realize till later on that some enemies do more than one damage.

Starting with 1 HP makes that feel real bad.
